Morrison Foerster (“MoFo”) has advised Collibra, a provider of an enterprise AI control plane for governing data, AI models and AI agents, on its acquisition of trail ML, a Munich-based AI governance company.
The acquisition adds trail ML’s agent-powered software, which assesses AI systems for regulatory compliance and enforces policies at runtime, to Collibra’s platform, enforcing Collibra policies directly where agents run and blocking actions that violate them before they happen.
The MoFo team advising Collibra was led by Data, Cyber + Privacy partner Boris Segalis (New York) and Mergers + Acquisition counsel Monika Obal (Berlin). Further support from Berlin came from partner Dr. Felix Helmstädter (National Security), counsel Dr. Jens Hackl (Antitrust), senior associate Alexander Eisenfeld (National Security) and associate Alexander Jansche (M&A).
