(October 29, 2026) – Morrison Foerster, a leading global law firm, is pleased to announce the arrival of Joshua Hill as a partner and Head of Business Litigation and Disputes, and Ariane Rockoff-Kirk, partner in the firm’s Complex Litigation Group, both in New York. The team brings over three decades of collective experience handling high-stakes commercial and class action litigation, trials and arbitrations, government and internal investigations, and crisis management for clients in the technology, energy, healthcare, sports, and asset management industries.
Hill’s and Rockoff-Kirk’s arrival reinforces the continued strategic expansion of Morrison Foerster’s U.S. Complex Litigation platform. Since the start of this year, the firm has added 20 partners to its Complex Litigation Group, including the recent addition of Dennis Ellis, Kathy Murray, and Serli Polatoglu in Los Angeles in August, and the addition of 15 Litigation partners with the opening of the firm’s Seattle office in February.
Hill, an accomplished trial lawyer and former federal prosecutor, rejoins Morrison Foerster, where he previously served as a partner. With over 20 years of experience, Hill has built a practice spanning complex commercial litigation, antitrust, securities, False Claims Act matters, and government and internal investigations. Having tried a dozen federal jury trials and arbitrations, Hill brings substantial trial experience and a proven ability to navigate sophisticated disputes involving significant financial, regulatory, and reputational exposure. He is nationally recognized by Chambers USA, Benchmark Litigation, and The Daily Journal, among others.
Rockoff-Kirk advises clients on complex disputes and sensitive matters requiring strategic coordination across litigation, regulatory, and reputational considerations. She has defended clients in a wide range of civil disputes, including complex commercial litigation, trade secrets disputes, M&A disputes, employment litigation, and securities litigation. Rockoff-Kirk works closely with Hill and brings complementary capabilities that further enhance the firm’s ability to counsel clients facing multifaceted legal and business challenges.
“Josh and Ariane are outstanding litigators with impressive track records and strong client relationships,” said Ruti Smithline, global co-chair of Morrison Foerster’s Litigation Department. “We are excited to welcome Josh back to MoFo and to have Ariane join our team. Their arrival further strengthens our Complex Litigation bench, bolsters our trial and investigations capabilities, and positions us to expand our work on sophisticated, high-value disputes for leading companies across several industries.”
“I am thrilled to return to MoFo at a time when the firm is making significant strategic investments in its Complex Litigation practice and trial capabilities,” said Hill. “I look forward to building on that momentum and leveraging the firm’s exceptional talent and global resources to deliver great results for our clients.”
“MoFo handles some of the most sophisticated and consequential litigation across the country,” said Rockoff-Kirk. “I’m excited to join a team of skilled litigators and help clients navigate their most critical legal and business challenges.”
The team’s practice aligns closely with Morrison Foerster’s strengths in complex commercial litigation, class action defense, antitrust, securities, and investigations. Together, Hill and Rockoff-Kirk bring an active national litigation docket and experience guiding clients through business-critical disputes, government scrutiny, and high-profile matters requiring coordinated litigation and crisis-management strategies.
With Hill’s extensive trial credentials and investigations background and Rockoff-Kirk’s experience navigating complex commercial disputes and sensitive congressional matters, the team expands the firm’s bench of experienced litigators advising sophisticated clients across the United States.
