Damien Specht Named a Law360 Government Contracts MVP

Morrison Foerster Government Contracts & Public Procurement partner Damien Specht has been named a 2026 Law360 MVP of the Year in the Government Contracts category.

Over the past year, Damien litigated dozens of protests and served as lead government contracts counsel on more than 50 completed transactions worth more than $12 billion in total. Law360 recognized his work, including:

• Securing a precedent-setting victory before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims for HII ShipCycle in a challenge to the Navy’s award of a contract to dismantle and dispose of the former USS Enterprise, the world’s first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier;
• Advising Thoma Bravo on government contracts matters in its $10.55 billion acquisition of Jeppesen ForeFlight from Boeing;
• Advising Arlington Capital Partners on its $960 million sale of Stellant Systems to TransDigm Group;
• Advising Blackstone on its $500 million investment in Shield AI; and
• Advising Razor’s Edge and Enlightenment Capital on their strategic investment in Expedition Technology.

Damien co-founded the American Bar Association Public Contract Law Section’s Mergers and Acquisitions Committee and co-edited the ABA book Best Practices in the Acquisition of a Government Contractor.
