His track record includes multiple class-certification denials as well as favorable dismissals at both the pleadings and summary-judgment stages.
Hyongsoon has guided clients through class actions involving unfair-business-practices and false-advertising statutes in jurisdictions including California, New York, Texas, Michigan, Florida, and beyond. Hyongsoon also represents clients in litigation under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, the Videotape Privacy Protection Act, and various securities-law claims.
His experience spans a variety of industries, from electronics and digital platforms to automotive, medical, oil and gas, retail, and food and beverage, providing him with a breadth of insight into the unique risks and opportunities across sectors.
Before joining Morrison Foerster, Hyongsoon was the head of the California Litigation group and Consumer Class Action group at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.

Negotiated favorable resolution for a large telecommunications company in a multimillion-dollar wage-and-hour class action involving overtime and meal-and-rest-break claims.
