Deep Dive: Navigating U.S. Food Tech Regulations: FDA + USDA

Morrison Foerster partner Brian Sylvester presented a workshop session at HackSummit, Beaulieu in Lausanne, Switzerland on May 15, 2025.

He led the session on the topic “Deep Dive: Navigating U.S. Food Tech Regulations: FDA + USDA.”

The session examined potential changes to self-affirmed Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) designations stemming from a recent Trump administration directive and practical implications for emerging foodtech startups. Additionally, it addressed anticipated regulatory updates at FDA and USDA and best practices when interfacing with regulators. The workshop was organized and presented by Brian Sylvester.
