Vulnerability Detection and Response in the Age of AI—How Can Organizations Can Keep Up, Will Their Bug Bounty Programs Survive, and What Questions Should Boards Be Asking Now?

It’s a race against the clock as recent advances in AI tools are accelerating vulnerability discovery and, importantly, helping threat actors figure out attack paths to exploit vulnerabilities which may not be detected by an organization’s standard tooling. The Five Eyes cyber security agencies have issued a call to action emphasizing the importance of cyber resilience given this fundamental shift in organizations’ ability to protect themselves. Because AI has and will continue to compress the time that an organization has to remediate a vulnerability or respond to an exploitation, organizations should prepare now to respond even more quickly by mapping out expedited technical, legal, contractual, and governance processes.
