MoFo Advises LIVEKINDLY Collective on Establishment of LIVEKINDLY Collective Africa Joint Venture

Morrison & Forester advised LIVEKINDLY Collective, a collection of heritage and startup brands on track to become one of the world’s largest plant-based food companies, on the commercial and intellectual property aspects of its establishment, together with RCL Foods, of a plant-based joint venture, LIVEKINDLY Collective Africa.

The joint venture will market, sell, and distribute all of LIVEKINDLY Collective’s brands in South and sub‑Saharan Africa, with the aim of accelerating the move towards a more sustainable food system and enhanced consumer choice. LIVEKINDLY Collective aims to transform the global food system by rapidly creating a plant-based food “ecosystem” of scale that extends from farm to fork and has global reach.

The MoFo team advising LIVEKINDLY Collective on the transaction was led by Technology Transactions and Life Sciences Transactions + Licensing partner Matt Karlyn and Corporate of counsel Kevin Madden, with support from Corporate partner Alfredo Silva, and Technology Transactions and Life Sciences Transactions + Licensing associates Mai Zymaris, Jill Tellioglu, Wendy Chu, and Scott Chen.

Morrison & Foerster also recently advised LIVEKINDLY Collective in connection with its acquisition of vegan meat alternative company No Meat from UK-based Iceland Foods.
