The Morrison & Foerster team representing VMware was featured in Law360’s coverage of the Federal Circuit’s oral argument on Cirba Inc.’s attempt to seek mandamus relief from the district court’s ruling that it lacks standing to pursue patent infringement claims against VMware.
Deanne Maynard urged the panel to affirm the trial judge’s ruling, stating that Cirba “agreed with us that if they’re a bare licensee they’d lack standing.” “So they knew, whether it was constitutional or statutory, that they had to prove they were more than a bare licensee to prove their claims,” she told the panel.
