The firm was recognized for advising Cambridge Quantum Computing (CQC) on its combination with Honeywell Quantum Solutions.The combination will create the world’s leading integrated quantum computing company, setting the pace for what is projected to become a $1 trillion quantum computing industry over the next three decades.The international MoFo Tax team advising CQC was led from London and New York by partners Sophie Allen and Tony Carbone together with of counsel David Sturgeon and associate Kirsten Banks. Leo Martin is a corporate partner in the Transactions Department and the Mergers + Acquisitions Group, based in the firm’s Boston and New York offices.His practice focuses on advising public and private companies in complex corporate transactions, including domestic and cross-border M&A, carve-out transactions, venture investments, and joint ventures. He regularly represents private equity sponsors and clients in a range of industries, including technology, food + agriculture, financial services, manufacturing, and consumer products.Leo earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his B.A. from Columbia College at Columbia University. Prior to joining the firm’s Boston office, Leo spent a number of years in Morrison Foerster’s Tokyo office, where he worked on a variety of cross-border M&A transactions.

Janie Buckley is a Litigation associate in Morrison Foerster’s New York office.Ms. Buckley earned her J.D. magna cum laude from New York University School of Law and was elected to the Order of the Coif. During her time at New York University School of Law, Ms. Buckley served as a staff editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law, and was a member of the Law Women group and the Art Law Society. She was honored as an Allen Scholar and as a recipient of the Ira E. Bilson ’55 Scholarship, which is awarded based upon academic merit. While in law school, Ms. Buckley served as a legal intern for South Brooklyn Legal Services in the Housing Unit. Prior to law school, Ms. Buckley was an intern in the Legal Department of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District in North Carolina.She earned her B.A. in Art History magna cum laude from New York University, where she was a recipient of the Founder’s Day Award and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.

Justin Haan is the chair of the firm's Technology Transactions Group, advising leading technology industry pioneers to help them navigate their most critical IP and technology needs.Justin’s practice focuses on transactions and counseling involving intellectual property and technology, including licensing arrangements, technology transfers, and joint development activities. Justin structures, drafts, and negotiates a wide range of commercial agreements, including software and content licenses, service agreements, reseller arrangements, and collaboration, manufacturing, supply and distribution agreements. He advises clients on the development, procurement and commercialization of cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, augmented/virtual reality, semiconductors, data centers, cloud computing services, autonomous vehicles, and unmanned aircraft systems.  Justin also counsels clients on open source software, complex patent-related transactions, and the intellectual property aspects of M&A transactions. Justin’s experience includes advising OpenAI, Arm, Autodesk, Meta, Salesforce, SoftBank, Unity, and others on the IP aspects of complex projects involving cutting-edge technologies and fast-evolving areas of law. Justin serves on the firm’s AI industry committee, where he helps to lead and collaborate with attorneys across multiple practices on the rapid advances of generative AI. As part of his market-leading M&A practice, he counsels strategic acquirers and targets in a variety of industries, including technology (semiconductors, software, AR/VR, FinTech, AI), healthcare, consumer products, financial institutions, media, gaming, and transportation. He represents leading U.S. and global companies and regularly advises on complex cross–border transactions.Eric is regularly recognized by leading publications, including Legal 500 US and Chambers USA, with client sources describing him as “greatly skilled at advising on the most complex and high–profile M&A transactions,” and noting that he “combines strong technical skills and a flair for complexity with commercial awareness, pragmatism and sound judgment.”Eric joined Morrison Foerster as a partner in 2007.
