Brandon Van Grack spoke to the Washington Post about former President Trump’s correspondence with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, which could cost him legally.
In late 2019 and early 2020, Trump appeared to acknowledge that his letters with Kim were highly sensitive government documents, referring to them as “top secret” in an interview with Bob Woodward, which suggests that he knew how sensitive specific documents were and took them anyway.
“It appears to be further confirmation that there was material at Mar-a-Lago that was highly sensitive,” Brandon said. “And whether or not there was a declassification order doesn’t change the fact that the information was highly sensitive.”
