Brandon Van Grack spoke to Bloomberg Law about the first planned U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) overhaul of the Foreign Agents Registration Act in 30 years, which is rooted in a greater level of enforcement that’s left a growing pool of lawyers practicing in the space.
“Ultimately, the reason there are more attorneys and questions is because of DOJ’s significantly enhanced enforcement posture,” Brandon said, adding that in drafting an upcoming proposed rule, the department “understood out of necessity that some of these questions required clarity.”
