Lawfare and MoFo Launch Series and Podcast, The Regulators: Conversations with Key Decision-Makers
Inaugural Session Featuring Assistant Secretary Paul Rosen on controls over inbound and outbound investments
WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 6, 2023) – Morrison Foerster has partnered with Lawfare to launch The Regulators, a new event series and podcast that will introduce the public to key regulators who oversee the U.S. government’s primary tools to protect national security and economic security. The series will showcase key decision-makers across the national security spectrum to help listeners understand how these regulators think about national security and economic policy, and what changes they have on the horizon.
The podcast is led by Brandon L. Van Grack, co-chair of MoFo’s National Security Practice, former U.S. Department of Justice national security official, and Contributing Editor at Lawfare, with Scott Anderson, Lawfare’s General Counsel and a Senior Editor there. Episodes will appear as a special series on the daily feed of The Lawfare Podcast.
The Regulators’ first guest was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Paul Rosen, who discussed Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) enforcement trends and outbound investment controls during the podcast with Brandon and Scott.
“This podcast will help educate those curious about national security issues and provide real-time insight from the regulators themselves on what’s happening now and what’s about to happen,” said Brandon.
In addition to the podcast, Lawfare and MoFo hosted an event with Assistant Secretary Rosen at MoFo’s Washington, D.C. office for practitioners and industry members.
Editor-in-chief of Lawfare Ben Wittes expressed his excitement about launching this series with MoFo, stating: “It was a pleasure to work with MoFo to bring this event to life and we look forward to continuing these conversations in a series of events co-hosted with MoFo, providing different government regulators and enforcers an opportunity to address recent developments in national security, investigations, and white collar crime.”
You can find this and all upcoming episodes in the Lawfare podcast feed.
