MoFo has once again received “Mansfield Certification Plus” recognition for 2023, joining a select group of firms to receive the honor every year since Diversity Lab’s launch of the Mansfield Rule in 2017. Certification Plus indicates that we have at least 30% women, minority, LGBTQ+, and lawyers with disabilities representation across notable leadership roles within the partnership and lateral hires, as well as in the talent pools from which we select talent for leadership and lateral recruiting opportunities. Currently, 50% of U.S. office managing partners, 68% of U.S. members of our board of directors, and 83% of our U.S. Partnership Review Committee members here at MoFo are diverse lawyers.
Mansfield Rule 6.0 includes 350+ U.S. and Canadian law firms participating in the certification process. With the introduction of new and more challenging requirements each year, the Diversity Lab’s Mansfield Rule strives to continually move the needle forward with respect to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the legal industry.
“This certification is a testament to our unwavering commitment to advancing DEIA in the legal industry,” said Natalie Kernisant, Morrison Foerster’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion officer. “In addition to attracting, developing, and advancing the most talented and diverse group of attorneys, MoFo strives to provide all its professionals the tools necessary to lead in equitable and inclusive ways, both inside and outside of the firm.”
This recognition is one of several that MoFo has recently received for its work advancing DEIA, including being named the “Outstanding Firm for Diversity & Inclusion” as part of the Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards: USA 2023.
