MoFo partners Rich Hung, Bita Rahebi, and Janet Xiao have been named to the Strategy 300: World’s Leading IP Strategists guide by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM). According to the publication, the 2025 edition of the Strategy 300 identifies individuals “driving innovation and unlocking value through intellectual property across industries and continents.”
Rich Hung currently co-chairs Morrison Foerster’s Global Litigation Department. He previously co-led the firm’s IP Litigation Group and the cross-disciplinary Intellectual Property Group for over a decade. A seasoned trial lawyer, Rich has taken over a dozen cases to jury verdict or final award and overseen well over 150 distinct IP disputes. With his background as an electrical engineer, Federal Circuit clerk, and registered patent lawyer, Rich also regularly represents clients in adversarial licensing disputes.
Bita Rahebi, co-chair of Morrison Foerster’s Global IP Litigation Group and the cross-disciplinary Intellectual Property Group, and co-leader of its Semiconductor Industry Group, helps the world’s most innovative technology companies protect their most valuable assets. She provides strategic direction and leads complex, high-stakes litigation matters. As a trial lawyer, Bita is known for zealously representing her clients’ interests. She brings an ability to explain complicated issues to juries and judges, a skill honed through years of experience working with cutting-edge technologies.
Janet Xiao, a partner in MoFo’s Palo Alto office, is a leading IP strategist for life sciences companies, advising on global patent portfolio management, IP due diligence, and cross-border transactions. She counsels clients ranging from biotech startups to multinational pharmaceutical companies on biopharmaceuticals, cell and gene therapies, research tools, and diagnostics. As Head of the firm’s China Life Sciences Group, Janet is recognized for her expertise in U.S./China IP matters and praised by Chambers Global for her strategic insight and technical depth.
