Law360 covered the launch of Morrison Foerster's Seattle office and the addition of 15 lateral partner hires, most of whom will be based in the new office. Michael Glaser, West Coast head of MoFo's emerging companies and venture capital practice and Seattle office managing partner, and new partners David Perez and Brendan Murphy spoke to Law360 about how the move came about and why the city is an important market for the firm.
On MoFo’s strategic decision to expand to Seattle, Michael said, “It's important for us to be here. There are clients of ours that have significant footprints here, that are headquartered here. And then, we had the opportunity to start a conversation with Brendan and David and their partners, and we were excited at the opportunity to be able to launch here.”
David discussed his decision to join MoFo in its new Seattle office, stating, "Just looking at this platform, it was too big of an opportunity to pass up. MoFo is an elite law firm, and when you have an opportunity to join an elite shop just on the cutting edge of this profession, you jump at that, and especially if the opportunity is paired with joining alongside some of my closest friends and colleagues."
Brendan added, “It was an opportunity to work with some of the same great people, but also meet a lot of new colleagues and extend out, hopefully, in some new areas, to help build a brand-new thing here in Seattle, on top of an already great platform with a lot of overlaps with the clients and practice areas.”
