Morrison Foerster Bolsters Complex Litigation Credentials and Builds Class Actions and Mass Torts Practice with Addition of Susana Cao Miranda as a Partner in London
Morrison Foerster, a leading global law firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Susana Cao Miranda, who joins the firm as a partner in its Complex Litigation + Advisement Group and Litigation Department, based in London. Cao Miranda brings over two decades of top-tier litigation experience to the firm, representing global clients on high-stakes commercial litigation, investigations, and regulatory enforcement action.
Cao Miranda arrives at Morrison Foerster with a broad disputes practice rooted in complex commercial litigation, class actions, and regulatory investigations, with a particular focus on advising clients that are active in highly regulated industries and sectors. She has experience representing clients before the English Courts and in other jurisdictions, on contentious proceedings involving general commercial litigation, finance litigation, mass torts and parent company liability claims, investment fraud, and claims relating to breaches of competition law.
Additionally, Cao Miranda brings a class actions and collective redress practice to Morrison Foerster, representing defendants in mass tort and collective action claims. She represents clients across financial services and banking, technology, telecommunications, mining, natural resources, and energy.
“Susana is a top-class litigator in the London market, with an impressive track record of delivering for clients involved in high-stakes disputes,” said Ben Summerfield, partner and Litigation head of Morrison Foerster’s London office. “Our global disputes platform is thriving, and our London Litigation Group continues to build strength on strength with Susana’s addition. Her breadth of experience adds depth to our UK and European litigation bench and elevates our top-of-market disputes, investigations, and class actions capabilities. We look forward to welcoming her in London.”
“Global clients routinely turn to MoFo to handle their more complex and business-critical disputes,” said Erin Bosman, co-chair of Morrison Foerster’s Litigation Department. “Susana is a heavyweight, commercially minded litigator, her arrival represents a significant strategic investment in our London platform. She is well positioned to support the ongoing success of our Litigation Department, while also helping us establish a strong practice in the fast-growing field of class actions and mass torts.”
Cao Miranda’s arrival represents the seventh partner addition in London in the last 12 months and follows the arrivals of Freddie Schwier as Tax partner (January 2026), Private Equity partners Eleanor Shanks (November 2025) and David D’Souza (July 2025), Leveraged Finance partner Ambarish Dash (July 2025), and Joshua Kaplan and Dan Jones as Fintech and Financial Services partners (October 2025), and also follows Ed Chang’s addition as Complex Litigation partner in Los Angeles (September 2025). Her arrival also follows the firm’s most recent global partner promotions round, when Jenny Galloway and Luke Rowland were promoted to Morrison Foerster’s partnership in London in the Investigations + White Collar and M&A practices, respectively.
“I am joining Morrison Foerster at an incredibly exciting time, as the firm grows numerous practices across key jurisdictions,” said Cao Miranda. “Morrison Foerster’s collaborative culture and top-tier reputation for handling complex disputes were real draws for me. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues worldwide to further build MoFo’s reputation for complex litigation, class actions, and investigations.”
Cao Miranda joins Morrison Foerster from a London-based litigation boutique law firm, where she was partner. She was previously a partner at an international law firm for seven years, and before that partnership was managing director and senior counsel responsible for litigation and contentious regulatory proceedings for a major global financial institution from 2010 until 2016. Cao Miranda holds an M.A. in history from the University of Cambridge and GDL in Law from City University of London and completed her L.P.C. with the College of Law; she is qualified to practice in England and Wales.
