Morrison Foerster Honored at the Managing IP Americas Awards 2026
Morrison Foerster has been recognized by Managing IP at its 21st annual Americas Awards. The awards recognize leading law firms and practitioners through market research and firm submissions, highlighting industry leaders who provide counsel on some of the most complex IP law matters.
MoFo was awarded Impact Case of the Year for representing Anthropic in a first-of-its-kind copyright class action challenging the use of copyrighted books to train large language models. In June 2025, the court held that Anthropic’s use of copyrighted works for AI training constituted transformative fair use but allowed piracy-based claims to proceed. The MoFo team, led by partner Daralyn Durie, helped guide Anthropic to a $1.5 billion settlement, clearing the way for the company’s continued growth and success.
MoFo was also named a finalist in numerous other categories at the Managing IP Awards, reflecting the breadth of our IP offerings.
The firm was shortlisted for the following awards:
- U.S. Firm of the Year – Patent Prosecution (West)
- U.S. Firm of the Year – Patent Prosecution
