Brian said the leadership change is unlikely to accelerate FDA’s food policy agenda because many priorities, including food chemical reassessments, GRAS reform, and dietary supplement oversight, were already underway before former Commissioner Marty Makary’s departure. He characterized the transition as a continuation rather than a major policy shift, noting that food and nutrition issues remain central to the administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” agenda.
