MoFo Advises DDSP on US$283 Million Green Financing for Malaysian Hyperscale Data Center Campus
MoFo advised Digital Decarbonization Solutions Platform (“DDSP”), a developer of hyperscale digital and decarbonized energy infrastructure across the Asia-Pacific, on the financial close of a US$283 million green financing for its hyperscale data center campus in Johor, Malaysia.
The financing will support the development of a 45MW built-to-suit hyperscale campus located within Sedenak Tech Park, one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital infrastructure corridors. Designed with a closed-loop liquid-cooling technology and an AI-ready high-density computing environment, the campus has been fully contracted to a leading global hyperscale customer.
The transaction represents a landmark green financing for advanced hyperscale digital infrastructure in Southeast Asia and supports DDSP’s continued expansion across the region, including the ongoing growth of its Johor operations. The financing attracted strong interest from a syndicate of regional and international lenders, underscoring the growing institutional demand for sustainable digital infrastructure investments as cloud computing and AI-driven capacity requirements continue to accelerate.
The Johor campus forms part of DDSP’s broader 1.1GW Asia-Pacific development pipeline, which includes multiple hyperscale digital infrastructure and decarbonized energy projects across Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Taiwan.
The MoFo team was led by the Asia head of the firm’s Finance Practice, Yemi Tépé, assisted by finance associates Yixian Zhao, Evan Huang, and transaction manager Lynette Wan, with support from the firm’s Energy and Infrastructure partner Per Lindberg and associate Tina Teo.
