MoFo Wins International Deal Firm of the Year at Asian Legal Business Japan Law Awards 2026

Morrison Foerster earned two top honors at the Asian Legal Business (ALB) Japan Law Awards 2026, winning both “International Deal Firm of the Year” and “Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law Firm of the Year.” The awards highlight the firm’s market-leading role in advising on transformative cross-border transactions and complex technology-focused matters involving Japan and markets around the world.

The honors reflect MoFo’s role advising on several of the most significant cross-border transactions involving Japan during the awards period. Representative matters included advising SoftBank Group Corp. on its US$5.375 billion acquisition of ABB’s Robotics division, advising PAG on its acquisition of Sapporo Real Estate Co., Ltd., and advising Bain Capital on its approximately US$3.3 billion acquisition of Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation. These matters demonstrate the firm’s strength in complex M&A, private equity, and technology‑focused transactions and its ability to seamlessly support clients across jurisdictions and industries.

The awards cap a strong showing, where MoFo earned 21 finalist nominations spanning 19 categories, and reflect the breadth of the firm’s market-leading Japan practice.
