Brandon Van Grack was a guest on MSNBC’s Alex Wagner Tonight discussing a report alleging a serious behind-the-scenes clash between FBI agents and federal prosecutors in the lead-up to the execution of the search warrant at former president Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort.
“There were individuals, senior officials, who were part of this deliberation that chose to leak this information right at the time that the Department of Justice and the FBI are likely making a charging decision,” Brandon said. “Debate, deliberation, disagreement…it is common and does occur, but when you have a leak like this it undermines the integrity of the investigation. Most importantly, how did those individuals go into a room and have an honest and candid discussion about charges knowing that there were people who may air their grievances publicly? I think it’s a troubling thing to learn, and it does have an impact on the investigation.”
