Dan Alam is an associate based in the London office of Morrison & Foerster and is a member of the Data Privacy and Employment Groups.

Dan advises clients on contentious, advisory and transaction related employment and data privacy matters. He has experience advising on the employment and data privacy aspects of cross-border M&A transactions and helps global businesses to comply with their various employment and data privacy obligations. Recently, Dan has assisted with data protection audits and assisted clients with data localization, data transfer and employee data protection queries. He has also advised clients on the requirements of the EU Whistleblowing Directive, while actively contributing to updates on Morrison & Foerster’s Whistleblowing Resource Center

Before joining Morrison & Foerster, Dan spent two months working at the Irish Data Protection Commission. Dan studied Law at the London School of Economics and subsequently completed the Legal Practice Course and a Masters in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law, Moorgate.

Dan actively contributes to the firm’s pro bono initiatives by working for a variety of charities and NGOs. In addition to assisting organisations on employment and data privacy matters, he has also advised on social security and statelessness issues. Dan was part of the collaboration between Asylum Aid and various law firms that was recognized with the “Excellence in Pro Bono” Award by the Law Society of England and Wales in 2021 for work addressing the issue of statelessness in the United Kingdom. 

Dan is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales.
