Forbes Names Four MoFo Lawyers to America’s Top Lawyers List
Morrison Foerster partners Val Dahiya, Daralyn Durie, Lisa Phelan, and Tessa Schwartz have been named to Forbes’ 2026 list of America’s Top Lawyers—a distinction awarded to a select group of attorneys nationwide based on “the caliber of their work, the trust they engender and the results they deliver for clients.”
- Val Dahiya co-heads MoFo’s Securities + Derivatives Regulatory Solutions team and advises clients at the intersection of financial regulation and technology, drawing on her prior roles at the SEC and FINRA to guide broker-dealers, exchanges, and clearing agencies through complex compliance and regulatory matters.
- Daralyn Durie is a trial lawyer in MoFo’s IP Litigation Group who represents leading technology and life sciences companies in high-stakes disputes, recently securing a defense win for Epic Games in a closely watched patent trial and a pivotal summary judgment for Genentech in an oncology patent dispute.
- Lisa Phelan heads MoFo’s Cartel Defense practice in its Global Antitrust Group and draws on more than 25 years at the DOJ’s Antitrust Division, where she served as Chief of National Criminal Enforcement, to guide clients through domestic and international antitrust cartel and white-collar investigations and class action litigation alleging collusion.
- Tessa Schwartz founded and co-chairs MoFo’s Artificial Intelligence Group and advises clients on IP-driven technology transactions, including licenses, acquisitions, and the IP aspects of M&A deals.
Forbes’ editorial team drew on industry outreach, nominations, and research to identify a broad pool of licensed, active lawyers, then evaluated candidates against weighted criteria—including reputation, client impact, thought leadership, and pro bono and mentorship work—with emphasis on recent achievements, to recognize this select group for their records of excellence and integrity.
