Sustainable Capitalism and ESG
Berkeley Law Executive Education Certificate
Suz Mac Cormac is a guest lecturer debating the board’s fiduciary duties under the traditional and new corporate forms, as part of the “Sustainable Capitalism and ESG” Berkeley Law Executive Education online certificate course developed by Professor Amelia Miazad, founder of the Business in Society Institute.
Investors, regulators, and the public are increasingly asking companies to manage their impacts on society. The global pandemic, racial injustice, rising income inequality, and climate change are only heightening the demands for capitalism to take account of its stakeholders. Yet, precisely how to meet this growing demand remains nebulous. The course addresses that challenge. Through a combination of focused lectures and case studies, curated readings, and in-depth interviews with over 45 thought leaders, this course demonstrates how to incorporate environmental, social, and governance considerations into business strategy.
Registration is now open and closes on July 30th, or when the course reaches capacity.
