Morrison & Forester partner Chiraag Shah and associate Pietro Grassi authored an article for Thomson Reuters’ Practical Law Arbitration Blog that covers the latest updates in the dispute between the Micula brothers and Romania.
The article recaps the 14-year dispute, and discusses the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia recently confirming an ICSID award against Romania, entering judgment for approximately $331 million in an action to enforce the award. “It remains to be seen whether the US judgment will be appealed or indeed, whether this decision will further muddy the already turbulent waters following the GCEU decision,” Chiraag and Pietro write. “What appears clear, however, is that the Micula saga remains far from concluded.”
