Global Competition Review interviewed Lisa Phelan about her views on gender imbalance in big business and why antitrust enforcement needs to rethink its male-oriented lens.

“I think the board of directors and current leaders of companies need to realize that it isn’t just a socially, politically smart thing to do to include more women,” Lisa said. “Studies have shown that companies that have more women in their board or in their C-suite positions perform better. But also, I think that the evidence that very few women engage in antitrust and other white-collar crime conduct suggests that having more women there will reduce the chance that you will have a company-crushing government investigation and prosecution for being engaged with this type of legal conduct.”
