MoFo advised SoftBank in connection with a Series C financing round led by Softbank’s Latin America Fund and Tencent totaling $150 million in Argentina’s Ualá, a mobile banking app and lending platform.
Ualá is a fintech startup that aims to provide users with easier management of their personal finances, specifically through its pre-paid MasterCard linked to the app. The company says portions of the new financing will go towards organic growth and scaling.
The MoFo team was led out of Miami by corporate partner Randy Bullard, co-chair of the firm’s Latin America Desk, and included partner Juan Delgado and associate Axel Miranda.
