IoT Security Laws Could Remain Privacy’s Plucky Understudy for a While

Chris Lyon spoke to LegalTech News about California’s new IoT security law, which is raising questions for manufacturers who are unsure about what they need to do in order to comply.

“IoT manufacturers are still seeking to understand the extent to which ‘reasonable security features’ may vary depending on whether the device is for consumer or enterprise use,” Chris said, noting that the nature of what constitutes “reasonable security measures” is vague.
