Former SEC trial lawyer and current Morrison & Foerster securities litigator Michael Birnbaum discusses the expanded risk to insider trading due to the expanded pool of potential traders with Private Funds CFO. While the pandemic has brought active relief from regulators, there are greater unknowns and risks for compliance teams to consider.

Of the wider implications on insider trading, Michael tells Private Funds CFO that “Six months ago, it probably wouldn’t have been material information if a flight got grounded because someone got sick. Today, it could potentially lead to a sell-off of a stock.”
