For the fifth straight year, Jennifer Marines has been named an Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer by Turnarounds & Workouts.
Jennifer, who was recently named co-chair of Morrison & Foerster’s Business Restructuring & Insolvency Group in addition to her role as co-chair of the firm’s global Finance Department, has extensive experience in the area and has proven to be a standout leader within the firm and the broader community. - Counsel to various companies in their exploration of, and preparation for, Chapter 11 filings.
- Counsel to the official committee of unsecured creditors of Murray Energy Holdings Co. and its affiliated debtors (“Murray”).
- Counsel to the official committee of unsecured creditors of Cloud Peak Energy, one of the largest coal producers in the United States, and certain of its subsidiaries.
- Counsel to United Parcel Services in dozens of large chapter 11 cases, including in UPS’s capacity as a member of various Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors including FTD, Destination Maternity, Pier 1 Imports, and Bluestem Brands.
- Counsel to the official committee of unsecured creditors of Windstream Holdings, Inc. (“Windstream”) and its affiliated debtors.
- Counsel to an ad hoc group of holders bonds guaranteed by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
- Counsel to various bondholders, creditors, and parties-in-interest in the ongoing chapter 11 bankruptcy cases of California’s largest utility, Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E).
For her success in such matters, she has been recognized by Legal 500 US as a Next Generation Partner for corporate restructuring since 2017; was named a Bankruptcy Rising Star by Law360 in 2016 and 2017; and was included on the American Bankruptcy Institutes’ 40 Under 40 list in 2018.
