Michael Jacobs was featured in Variety’s coverage of the injunction New York-based video company Eko is seeking against Quibi that could force the streaming service to disable its rotating video functionality while a patent suit is in litigation.In a telephonic hearing before U.S. District Judge John Kronstadt, Michael argued that Quibi independently developed the Turnstyle video feature, adding that Quibi would suffer irreparable harm if the injunction were granted.“We would have to rip out a function and figure out how to deliver content to our users in a very turbulent time in the world in which Quibi is trying to get customers to sign up for business,” Michael said. “We’ve invested in two assets – a horizontal and a vertical asset.
