Sponsors Under Pressure to Boost SPAC Alignment – Morrison & Foerster

Morrison & Foerster partner and co-chair of Global Corporate department, Mitchell Presser, was featured in an article “Sponsors under pressure to boost SPAC alignment” published by Private Equity International, in which he suggested the sponsors are having pressure to boost their alignment with investors given the sheer number of SPACs in the market along with the recent statements made by the US Securities and Exchange Commission. “We are seeing a good number of cases where the sponsors are increasing the alignment of their interest with the investors by saying I’ll take some of my economics and put them at risk,” Mitchell said. He also added the devolution of the SPAC is due to the caution coming from a number of different sectors, regulators and investors.
