John Burge is Of Counsel within the Banking and Finance Group and he is based in the London office of Morrison & Foerster.

Mr. Burge has extensive experience as a finance lawyer advising both lenders and borrowers on their investment grade, leverage and restructuring transactions. His role involves assisting lenders and borrowers with transactions and negotiating and settling commitment, loan and associated documentation both in London and overseas.

He has counseled international banks in relation to transactional banking and internal risk management functions. Alongside his leverage and investment grade practice he frequently advises banks on new lending products, loans with unique features, loans of a high risk nature and transactions which are the subject of litigation.

Mr. Burge has advised banks on their key internal risk management exercises, including the finance aspects of litigation and restructuring loan portfolios.

Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Mr. Burge worked for a Magic Circle firm for 16 years. During that time, he was seconded to a major investment bank on three separate occasions
