About MoFo Diversity

Diversity Strategy Committee

Formed in 2003, MoFo’s Diversity Strategy Committee (DSC) supports a variety of internal diversity, LGBTQ+, and women’s initiatives, programs, and groups designed to recruit, train, mentor, and retain diverse lawyers and staff.

The DSC comprises senior and mid-level partners, including the firm’s chair, the firmwide managing partner, the director of diversity and inclusion, and the director of attorney development.

Awards + Recognitions

  • Ranked among the top 10 firms on its 2020 Diversity Scorecard. This is the 10th year in a row that MoFo has earned a top 10 spot and the 19th year in a row that we have been among the top 15.

  • Achieved “Mansfield Certification Plus” for the third year in a row as a result of successfully reaching at least 30 percent women, communities of color, and LGBTQ+ lawyer representation in a notable number of current leadership roles and committees. The firm is one of only 25 to have received Certification Plus for three consecutive years.

  • Named Best International Firm for Diversity as part of its 2020 Americas Women in Business Law Awards. The honor recognizes everything around diversity that is outside of women only issues (for example: race, LGBTQ+, disability, and social mobility).

  • Ranked among the top three “601+ lawyers” firms for attorneys of color in its 2020 Diversity Snapshot. Additionally, ranked second in the list of biggest firms with the most diverse equity partners.

  • Awarded the Gold Standard Certification for meeting objective benchmarks pertaining to the number of women among equity partners and firm leadership and in the ranks of their most highly compensated partners. In 2020, we were one of 12 firms to achieve a special Ten Year certificate highlighting our continued commitment to women in law.

  • Recognized as one of the Best Law Firms for Women for the 11th time, including every year since 2014. We are one of the law firms that has been recognized 10 times or more, which, as of 2019, earned us a designation on the Hall of Fame list.

  • Honored with a 100 percent rating on the 2020 Corporate Equality Index, marking the 17th year of inclusion as one of the best places to work for LGBTQ+ equality.

  • Included in its annual Top Firms for Gender Equity & Family Friendliness Report, specifically recognized as a Top Firm for Diverse Partnership due to the firm’s strong level of representation of women and women of color at the partnership level.
